Computer Programming Club
Moira has done exceptionally well in recent years in the field of computer programming, we are always looking for new programmers, all grades, no experience necessary, we will train you!
We will meet in room 250 from 11:00 to 11:30 every Wednesday, for experienced programmers this is an opportunity to review past problems etc. For new programmers, mini lessons will be taught covering basic Input Process Output (IPO) style problems that appear in the Junior division of the University of Waterloo contest. Note that you can enter the Junior division regardless of grade, for example, grade 12 student new to programming is encouraged to enter the Junior division.
Participation in these events is EXTREMELY useful when applying to Universities and Colleges, University of Waterloo specifically asks students applying to certain programs if they took part in any contests run by the University. For one student a combination of reasonable grades and participation in the Junior division (as a grade 12) was more than sufficient to gain entry to the program of his choice.
Try it out, the problem solving skills that you will develop will help you in all subjects.
